Glitter Gal 10 to Midnight
- by Playing with Polish
Ahhh, I love holo polish! Glitter Gal’s 10 to Midnight is a dark grey linear holo polish. It’s a great color, and the holo is visible in most lights which is a big plus. The bottles may be small, but this is good stuff! So far all the Glitter Gals I have tried applied nicely and wore well.
Application was very good. Two coats and a top coat shown.
Butter London Knackered
- by Playing with Polish
Knackered, extremely tired or a horse that is no longer able to work being rendered into glue or dog food, is a lovely polish. It looks like neither of those things to me. You can be assured that I will not be sending my bottle off to be made into glue! The Butter London website describes it as, “a sheer, twinkling oyster shade flecked with micro glitter particles.” I have no clue why they would describe the color as oyster. To my eye it is a silvery duochrome that shifts from purple to a greyish-green. It is also infused with very fine holographic glitter. Me like!!
This polish is quite sheer. I used five coats , and I still have some VNL. Other than being sheer, the application was very good. Five coats really is a lot though. It might be a good bet for layering. Five coats and a top coat shown.
Ozotic 513
- by Playing with Polish
Ozotic 513 is a grape purple polish with crazy, awesome linear holo!
At $18 a bottle this polish is pricy, but it does pack a sparkly punch! My husband got me several Ozotic polishes for Christmas. These were my first Ozotics, but they won’t be my last
Application was very good (especially for a holo). Two coats and a top coat shown.
Orly Rock Solid
- by Playing with Polish
Rock Solid is one of the new polishes from Orly’s Mineral FX collection. It is a dark charcoal with s bit of silver shimmer and holographic glitter. Even with a top coat the polish has a textured finish. It reminds me of asphalt with little bits twinkling in the sun. I mean it in the best possible way
That may not sound pretty, but it is!
Application was very good. Two coats and a top coat shown.
Glitter Gal Lizard Belly
- by Playing with Polish
Lizard belly has even more awesome holographic goodness than Marine Blue. Although both are polishes I will reach for again and again
Lizard Belly is a very dark green with linear holo. I love this color! It looks like green is going to be big this fall. This stunning green would be the perfect accent to any fall outfit
At 9ml Glitter Gal bottles are smaller than standard polish bottles, but they manage to pack a lot of glittery goodness into that small package.
Application was excellent. Two coats and a top coat shown.
I will be giving away both Lizard Belly and Marine Blue along with some other fun goodies from Kim at Overall Beauty in my Back to School giveaway (I go back to school in a week and a half
). My giveaway starts tomorrow, so please check back!
Glitter Gal Marine Blue
- by Playing with Polish
Glitter Gal is an Australian brand. Happily Overall Beauty has started carrying them, so you can order them from a US seller and save on shipping (I always order $50+ anyway, so the shipping is free
). Marine Blue 3D Holo is an awesome bright blue with linear holo which even shows up strongly in indoor lighting – pow! I adore sparkles and holo polish, and this beauty really fits the bill! Just looking at my holo-licious nails make me happy. Good stuff!
I am going to try Glitter Gal’s Lizard Belly next, but I don’t want to take this one off!
First I tried applying this over my usual Poshe basecoat and I had a few application issues (mostly dragging and bald spots). I switched to China Glaze Strong Adhesion basecoat and it applied like a dream
A top coat did not seem to dull the holo either. Did I mention that this is good stuff!?! Two coats and a top coat shown.
Color Club Revvvolution and Worth the Risque
- by Playing with Polish
After a string of overcast days, the sun peeked out. I wanted to do something fun with some major sparkle
Worth the Risque
Worth the Risque is a bright silver holo.
Application was very good, and this polish dries quickly. I used a base coat, so I did get some bald spots with the first two coats. The polish was totally opaque in three coats. Three coats and a top coat shown.
Revvvolution
Revvvolution is a beautiful black holo. Yummy!
Application was very good. I used a base coat, but this color did not have the same bald spot issue. I had excellent coverage in two coats. Two coats and a top coat shown.
