OPI Designer Series Glamour
- by Playing with Polish
I had intended to do one of my new spring pastels, but the Bay Area is currently experiencing overcast skies and a few April showers. I decided on a darker more stormy color which is also an “oldie but goodie” OPI’s DS Glamour. Heck, holo micro-glitter and diamond dust are always fun!
Good application on this one. It seems to be a bit thicker and more pigmented than other DS polishes I have tired, but it still went on smoothly. I almost had opacity at two coats, but ended-up doing three. The base of this color is a deep sapphire blue, with intense holo sparkle goodness! In subdued light it is a shimmery darker blue. In bright light it is a virtual galaxy of rainbow sparkles!
Three coats and a top coat shown.
OPI Designer Series Amethyst
- by Playing with Polish
Although Amethyst is not a current color for the OPI Designer Series, it certainly is an “oldie but goodie!” I have a passion for purple nail polishes, and this is a purple with a ton of personality! I also love that the DS polishes have diamond dust
Amethyst is of course a holo micro-glitter with a light purple base color. Application was supurb, but did require three coats for opacity. This polish dried quite quickly. Holy mother of sparkle Batman! Pow! What a knockout!
As a holo the color really changed depending on the light source. In some artificial light the color appeared to be an almost subdued shimmery light purple. In sunlight or more direct artificial lighting the glitter really came to life! This polish truly is a gem! The pictures show three coats with a top coat.
The bottle picture is a fairly good representation of color’s appearance in indirect artificial light.
