We have been enjoying some sunny weather this week in Portland. I recently picked-up No-Miss South Beach Red on a trip to New Seasons. I think this warm summery red would be the perfect shade to compliment the sunny weather It is a classic warm red crème, and really is a perfect polish for summer.
Application was very good. It applied smoothly, and was almost opaque in one coat. I probably could have used one coast if I had applied it more thickly. Two coats and a top coat shown.
No Miss’s Braden Blackberry is a shimmery brownish wine color. It is a delicious shade that’s perfect for fall. My husband and I went apple picking last weekend. Although it is still warm here, we are supposed to have cooler weather this weekend. For me this color calls to mind the smell of yummy fall baked goods like pie! In fact, my mouth is watering a bit as I type this review
Application was very good. Two coats and a top coat shown.
No Miss is a line of natural cosmetics available at Whole Foods. I got this beauty while I was on vacation with my husband in Portland. Purple Xtasy is a pale sheer purple with multicolored iridescent glitter. I found that it was to sheer for my taste to wear alone. However, it is great for layering. I tired it over BB Couture’s Nike (a somewhat reddish-purple with red and blue shimmer). The results were a purple that was a bit paler and more bluish with glitter that reminded me of confetti I found that this polish was similar to most flakie glitter polishes I have tried in that it photographed best in indirect sunlight.
Application was very good. I used three coats of BB Couture Nike with one coat of Purple Xtasy and a top coat.
In honor of the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, I am reviewing a nail polish that I picked-up at Whole Foods. I adore organic and natural products. I love our local farmers’ markets and Whole Foods, and often buy personal care products there. About six years ago I tried a nail polish from Whole Foods that was marketed as being natural and non-toxic. It had a name like Fairy Dust or something like that. That purchase was a mistake! Six years later I still remember that the application was streaky, and it had an uneven frosty finish. When it came time to remove it, I found that stuff was like cement! It was even harder to budge than the most stubborn glitter. Uggh! I threw it away, and gave up on “natural” nail polish. A few days ago I decided it was time to try again. I am glad I did!
No-Miss Palm Beach Mauve is a lovely crème that applied very smoothly. I almost had opaque coverage in one coat. This color is a beautiful spring shade that reminds me of OPI’s Dim Sum Plum. They are not dupes, but they are pretty close. No-Miss does not contain the Big Three or camphor. This is good stuff. I would be happy to grab another color on my next weekly shopping trip!
Unlike my previous experience, I found that I was able to remove this polish quite easily.
Two coats and a top coat shown.
