Nicole by OPI Midnight Snowfall

I was at Target a few days ago, and I spotted more Target exclusive Nicole by OPI colors. The idea of Target and exclusive still makes me laugh a bit, but hey they are pretty colors. Anyway, everybody needs to go to Target.  Why not throw some polish in the cart too? ;-) I picked-up Midnight Snowfall and Fell from the Tree. Fell from the Tree seems to be a bit shy in pictures though. It really is quite pretty, so I am working on getting a better representation for you! :-)

Midnight Snow

In the bottle this looks like a medium purple, but on my nails it was a medium bluish-purple. Sadly this one was a bit camera shy too – it is much more purple and less blue then the bottle picture shows. The swatch is much more color accurate.I really like this color, but for some reason I want to try it with some glitter top coats. I am in a glittery mood! I bet it would make an awesome pedicure.

Application was ok, but I still had some bald spots after two coats. At three coats I achieved good opacity. Three coats and a top coat shown.

Nicole by OPI It’s A May-zing

 - by Playing with Polish

I was buying cotton balls at Target and I noticed that they had a new collection of Nicole by OPI colors that were a Target exclusive. The collection is called Hypnotic, and the colors were quite bright and summery!

It’s A May-Zing is a hot pink shimmer. In the store for some reason I thought the shimmer looked orange, but it must have been a trick of the lighting. The shimmer is very bright pink just like the base color. My husband kept calling it red, but it is defiantly a statement making shimmery fuchsia. I could totally see Barbie rocking this color, or perhaps it would be better suited to Jem the singer/doll from the 80s cartoon :-) It applied easily, but a bit sheer. It took three coats for almost opaque coverage.

This color was very difficult to capture. It kept looking red in the pictures even though it is undoubtedly pink. I take my pictures in the same location with the same lighting conditions to maintain consistency, but with this color I experimented quite a bit. Still the rascal eluded me!
