Recently I went to visit a friend that I had not seen in awhile, and it turns out that he had been saving a birthday gift for me. It was nn adorable little silk purse. It was handmade and provided good jobs to women in Vietnam. I liked those aspects for sure, but it also is almost a perfect match to Zoya’s Rica How cool is that?!? It is a warm orangish coral with a gold sheen a a slightly color shifting quality. Although I am not usually into matchy-matchy things, I do sometimes love to match my polish to something else I am wearing.
Do you have any polishes that you match to clothing or accessories?
Here are a few polishes from the new Orly Sweet collection.
Both Cotton Candy and Pixy Stix were three coaters, although my husband pointed out that the coverage on this was not as good as some of the other polishes I have worn before since he could, “still see my nail.” Oh well, it’s true even after three coats there was a very faint visible nail line.
Neither of these colors really reminded me of candy, especially Cotton Candy which I would have expected to be a baby pink color reminiscent of a spun sugar cloud. Both of these looked pink to me in the bottle, but when applied on my nails they looked like more of a coral. If I was in charge of naming them I would have come of with beach inspired names instead. I think they are great spring/summer colors, but that they would look better on someone with a tan. I never tan, so that won’t be me! They applied nicely. Both were a bit streaky on the first coat, but were fine by the time I reached three coats. Three coats and a top coat shown.
