Nails Inc. Trafalgar Square
- by Playing with Polish
It took me a while to jump on the magnetic polish bandwagon, but boy am I glad I did! I thought it looked ok on other people, but I was not sure it was for me. In the bottle Trafalgar Square looks like a dark grey shimmer polish. I really love shimmery gray polish, so even if it was just that I would like this polish
But using the magnetic cap to create the chevron stipe effect is really easy, and it looks really cool! I was totally surprised but how much I like it!
I only bought Trafalgar Square, but I think I am going to buy the purple polish too (Houses Of Parliament)!
Application was very good. You have to apply a thin layer of polish on each nail, and then a thick layer. Right after applying the second layer you use the magnetic cap while the polish is still wet (do one nail at a time). I accidentally touched the magnetic cap to my nails a few times, but I was able to patch that up fairly easily. Two coats and a top coat shown.
Have you hopped on the magnetic polish bandwagon? If so, which are your favorites?
Orly Emberstone
- by Playing with Polish
Emberstone is another awesome polish from Orly’s Mineral FX collection. I am not usually into orange polish on me, but this is a really cool color! It is a bright reddish orange with multi-colored orange, gold, purple and pink shimmer. I love it!
I was hoping that the sun would peek out for some photos, but the cloud cover was persistant. It seems that the shimmer colors showed up more strongly in diffuse light, so that might be a good thing.
You can especially see the shimmer colors if you click on the photo to enlarge.
Application was excellent. Two coats and atop coat shown.
A Sweet Gift From a Friend – a Polish Colored Purse
- by Playing with Polish
Recently I went to visit a friend that I had not seen in awhile, and it turns out that he had been saving a birthday gift for me. It was nn adorable little silk purse. It was handmade and provided good jobs to women in Vietnam. I liked those aspects for sure, but it also is almost a perfect match to Zoya’s Rica
How cool is that?!?
It is a warm orangish coral with a gold sheen a a slightly color shifting quality. Although I am not usually into matchy-matchy things, I do sometimes love to match my polish to something else I am wearing.
Do you have any polishes that you match to clothing or accessories?
Orly Rock Solid
- by Playing with Polish
Rock Solid is one of the new polishes from Orly’s Mineral FX collection. It is a dark charcoal with s bit of silver shimmer and holographic glitter. Even with a top coat the polish has a textured finish. It reminds me of asphalt with little bits twinkling in the sun. I mean it in the best possible way
That may not sound pretty, but it is!
Application was very good. Two coats and a top coat shown.
