Zoya’s Intimate Collection
- by Playing with Polish
Sheesh, it feels like it has been forever since I wrote a blog entry! I have snapped a few manicure pics, but I have been really busy with school and they have not turned into blog posts
At any rate, the weather has been quite spring-like here this week. I have been dying to try Intimate, Zoya’s new spring collection. So here are the first of the six new shades. I will try to get the other three up in a few days.
Gemma
Gemma is a murky greyish-blue green with a blue and dark pink shimmer. It is a really cool color! I don’t really love it on me though.
Application was very good, but a tad on the sheer side. Three coats and a top coat shown.
Jules
Jules is a soft muted gold. I was unsure if I was going to like it or not since many golds are a bit too warm for me. This is cooler and softer though. I was surprised at how much I liked Jules! For me is a much more wearable gold.
Application was very good, but this one was also a tad on the sheer side. Three coats and a top coat shown.
Danni
Danni is a lovely violet with a pinkish shimmer. Mmmm, this is such a yummy spring color! I love it!!!
I got some other new polish today too, but this was a swatch that turned into a full manicure. The other colors will have wait a day or two
Application was excellent. Two coats and a top coat shown.

Seven things about myself
1. I am currently a full-time student and career changer.
2. Right now I feel like I have been a bit of a bad blogger because I have been really busy with school and other projects. I am doing very well in school though, and for the most part enjoying the other projects as well.
3. I went to high school with my husband, but we never met until after we graduated.
4. I am 6′ tall – I love being tall!
5. I was a nail biter when I was younger. I never thought I would have nice nails as an adult!
6. I love the outdoors, but I am not a huge fan of camping. I always seem to put my sleeping bag over a stump or a big rock! I also hate camp showers and bathrooms.
7. I got my first pair of glasses last January, and I really like them! I always secretly wanted glasses, but never needed them until now. I think cute glasses are a fun accessory!

Illamasqua Phallic
- by Playing with Polish
Illamasqua’s Phallic is vivid shimmering midnight blue. I don’t get why they chose the name. To be honest it put me off a bit, but it is a gorgeous color! This heavenly blue is right up my alley!
Application was excellent. Two coats and a top coat shown.
I recently bought several of Illamasqua’s polishes, and I noticed that all of them have crooked caps. It doesn’t seem to have any negative effect on the polish, but I think it makes the bottle pictures look funny!
Color Club Revvvolution and Worth the Risque
- by Playing with Polish
After a string of overcast days, the sun peeked out. I wanted to do something fun with some major sparkle
Worth the Risque
Worth the Risque is a bright silver holo.
Application was very good, and this polish dries quickly. I used a base coat, so I did get some bald spots with the first two coats. The polish was totally opaque in three coats. Three coats and a top coat shown.
Revvvolution
Revvvolution is a beautiful black holo. Yummy!
Application was very good. I used a base coat, but this color did not have the same bald spot issue. I had excellent coverage in two coats. Two coats and a top coat shown.
